Mystic Instructions

  • Check any and all products that you use on your skin to make sure they do not contain MINERAL OIL OR
    PETROLEUM/PETROLATUM!  You should stop using any products that contain these ingredients for several days before
    your Mystic Tan session.  These ingredients leave a coating on your skin and you need to be sure that there is no residue
    left behind.  Mineral oil and/or Petroleum products can cause the Mystic Tan to turn greenish, or streaky, or block it out
    altogether.

  • Shower/Shave/Exfoliate before your session, because the longer you can put off shaving and exfoliating, the longer the
    color will last.   

  • Remove all clothing, jewelry, make-up, etc.  (Do not reapply make-up immediately after your Mystic session.)

  • Moisturize immediately before getting into the Mystic booth.  Must be a water-based lotion (meaning that the first
    ingredient is water) that does NOT contain Mineral Oil or Petroleum/Petrolatum!  We recommending purchasing a packette
    of HyperMoist lotion made by the Mystic Tan company because it is designed specifically for the Mystic and will provide
    better results that last longer.  

  • Apply lip balm before getting into the booth.

  • Most people just close their eyes, but we do have disposable eyewear available for purchase.

  • Use the disposable hair cap that we provide to keep your hair clean and dry.  

  • After exiting the Mystic booth, you will need to completely towel off all excess mist (in a circular motion) before
    redressing.  We provide a clean bath towel to dry off after your session.

  • You cannot get wet for at least 4-6 hours after your session, while your tan is developing.  No swimming, no bathing, no
    working out, no moisturizing.  Many people find it best to Mystic Tan in the afternoon or evening and then put off
    showering until the next day.

What is the Mystic Tan?
    Private booth that uses MagneTan Technology to spray a uniform amount of Mystic Tan self tanning mist to the entire body in just
    seconds.

What is MagneTan Technology?
    Patented process that uses the human body's own magnetic properties to attract Mystic Tan Tanning Myst to every exposed
    surface of the skin.  When the mist passes through the spray nozzles they become polarized, taking on the characteristics of "tiny
    magnets" that adhere evenly to the skin to create a smooth, natural-looking tan.

Will it make me orange or streaky?
    No!  Self tanning creams and lotions applied by hand have a tendency to turn orange or cause streaks because of inconsistent
    coverage.  The orange color is a result of too much lotion, while streaking is caused by not enough lotion.  Hand-held spray-on
    applicators tend to run and can also cause streaking.  

What should I wear in the Mystic Tan booth?
    Since the booth is completely private, most people wear nothing to get an all-over tan.  If you decide to wear a bathing suit or
    underwear, please be aware that while the mist is water soluble and should wash out, there is a possibility that garments could
    become permanently stained.

What happens if the Mystic Tan Tanning Myst gets in my eyes?
    The Tanning Myst has been thoroughly tested by a third-party and results showed no eye or skin irritation.  Mystic Tan has been
    used in more than 15 million tanning session with noadverse reactions documented.  Disposable eyewear is available for
    purchase, if so desired.

What happens if I inhale any of the Mystic Tan Tanning Myst?
    While no one should purposely inhale or ingest the mist, DHA (the active tanning ingredient) is a non-hazardous compound and
    causes no adverse reaction in moderate quantities.  DHA has been used as a diet supplement in sports nutrition and is non-
    carcinogenic.  Testing by the Mystic Tan company indicates the maximum amount of DHA that could accidentally be ingested or
    breathed during a one minute Mystic Tan would be .05 milligrams (equivalent to less than one grain of common table salt) and that
    such a minimal amount should pose no health risk to the consumer.
